When evaluating any congregation—charismatic, traditional, or otherwise—look for transparency in leadership, financial accountability, and how they handle pastoral care and conflict. The difference between a congregation that matures people spiritually and one that exploits vulnerability often comes down to whether leaders remain answerable to their community and broader church structures. Sound theology matters, but so does how teaching is applied: Do people develop stronger marriages, handle money more wisely, serve others more generously? Genuine spiritual growth involves transformation you can see in relationships and behaviour, not just emotional highs during services. A congregation's character shows in how it treats people who ask hard questions or choose to leave.
