Rosedon House
Rosedon House operates as a safe space where vulnerable individuals can access meals, shelter, and basic care—work that requires consistent operations seven days a week. In Cape Town's climate, a dry bed and warm food matter most during winter months when street conditions deteriorate. The centre manages the logistics of intake, assessment, and placement coordination with other social services, connecting people to longer-term support where it's available. Staff balance emergency response with the slower work of building trust with residents, many of whom have cycled through homelessness and institutional care multiple times. It's infrastructure work that keeps people alive while systems catch up.
