In Pretoria, the specialty coffee scene has developed most visibly around Hatfield and Brooklyn — look for roaster-focused cafés on the Hatfield strip for the best technical quality. The city moves at a noticeably slower pace than Joburg, and cafés here reflect that — longer hours and less frantic service are the norm.
