Masjid Azîez

Gqeberha's Muslim community has its own distinct needs and cultural rhythms that shape how mosques operate in the city. Masjid Azîez serves as both a spiritual centre and a gathering place for Muslim families navigating life in the Eastern Cape. The mosque accommodates the five daily prayer times, with Jumu'ah (Friday congregational prayer) being central to weekly practice. Ramadan brings intensified activity—longer hours, additional evening prayers, and community iftaar gatherings—making the mosque essential infrastructure during the Islamic calendar's ninth month.
