Good educare stands out in how staff interact with children and what they can actually demonstrate about learning. Experience shows up in transitions — how practitioners handle a child's separation anxiety, or shift activities when focus drops. Real competence means educators can identify developmental red flags and communicate with parents about speech, motor skills, or social cues. Look for whether staff are trained in ECD accreditation, not just experienced informally. Notice if there's documentation of children's progress, intentional lesson planning beyond free play, and engagement with parents as partners. It matters whether the centre can articulate what each age group is learning and why — that's the difference between childminding and actual early childhood education.
